Trauma Therapy for Eldest Daughters and High Achievers

You were the responsible one early, and you still are. Trauma rarely looks like trauma from the outside. It looks like competence, a schedule with no gaps, and a mind that will not stop checking.

Andrea Lynn Piazza, LMHC, trauma therapist and Clinical Director at Dreavita

What Andrea works on most

PTSD & Complex Trauma

Especially in eldest daughters and high achievers, where trauma shows up as competence rather than collapse. EMDR-trained.

OCD, Including Moral & Relationship OCD

The thought you cannot stop testing: whether you are a good person, whether you love your partner enough. Named precisely and treated as OCD.

ADHD & Autism

Neurodivergent-affirming work with adults, including late diagnosis and the cost of years spent masking.

Eating Disorders

Outpatient work on disordered eating, body image, and the rules that grew up around food.

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy

For clients who are a good fit. Prescribing and medical oversight through BetterU; the therapy itself with Andrea.

About Andrea

Andrea Lynn Piazza has been providing care since 2017. Her clinical work sits at the intersection of PTSD and high achievement, often with eldest daughters and people who learned early that being capable was the safest thing to be. She also works with ADHD, autism, eating disorders, and OCD, including moral and relationship OCD.

She is EMDR-trained and provides ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, with prescriptions and medical oversight through BetterU. She is kink and poly informed, and works with adults of all genders. Sessions are one to one, by video, in any of the eight states where she is licensed.

Andrea is Dreavita's founder and Clinical Director, and a Qualified Supervisor in Florida. She holds an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Central Florida and an MBA from UCLA Anderson, is a National Certified Counselor and Board Certified TeleMental Health Provider, and is pursuing a PhD in Health Systems Research at the University of Toronto. She sees a small number of clients privately and schedules each session herself.

Paraphrased versions of what Andrea hears most. If one of these sounds like your own head, you are in the right place.

I was the parent before I was an adult.
Everyone thinks I have it together, and I am exhausted.
I keep checking whether I am actually a good person.
I love my partner and I cannot stop doubting it.
The ADHD diagnosis came at 34 and explained everything.
Food has rules I did not choose and cannot drop.

Questions before you reach out

How do I book?

Email andrea@dreavita.com. Andrea schedules her own sessions and replies personally, so there is no online calendar for her. She does not offer a free consultation; your first appointment is a full session. A few lines about what is going on is enough to start.

Does she take insurance?

No. Andrea is private pay only, with sessions starting at $150. If you want to use your insurance, the Get Started page matches you with an in-network Dreavita clinician by state and plan.

Where can she see clients?

California, Florida, Washington, Alaska, Colorado, New York, Massachusetts, and Michigan. Sessions are virtual, and you need to be physically in one of those states at the time of your appointment.

What is ketamine-assisted psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy paired with ketamine that is prescribed and medically overseen by BetterU, while Andrea provides the therapy. It is not a fit for everyone, and whether it makes sense for you is something you decide together.

Does she see couples or families?

No. Andrea works with individual adults 18 and over. Dreavita has clinicians who work with couples and families.

Is she affirming of kink and polyamory?

Yes. Andrea is kink and poly informed, so your relationship structure is context rather than something you have to explain or defend first.
